The Ceremony
The hitchin’ ceremony will take place at approximately 1pm at Sparrowhawk Lake. The autumn leaves are in their peak right around Columbus Day weekend, so the backdrop should be pretty spectacular. Here are directions to the lake.
The Reception
After the ceremony we will lead a caravan down to the Schroll family farm for the reception, where we will feast on barbecue chicken and ribs (we are not kidding) and dance to live polka music (we are not kidding about this either)! Here are directions to the reception.
This will be a primarily outdoor wedding and the weather in Schenevus is unpredictable this time of year. Temperatures during the day can range from the 80s (this happened two years ago) down to the mid-fifties (this happened last year), so be prepared with some extra layers. And of course it may rain. There will be a large tent at the reception, but not at the site of the ceremony, so you may want to bring an umbrella, just in case.
